With the election now, finally, over, I decided that some (modest) entertainment was desirable. So, whether you are pleased with the results of the election, or not, here’s an attempt at something which has no pretext of being serious.
These are pictures, mostly of signs, I have encountered along my way through life which, in my own weird way, I found amusing. Since pictures take up a lot of space, I’ll only post a few this time and do this again at some future date. I liked these a lot and I hope you will, too. This is an actual sign in a department store here in Omaha. I found it to be hysterical.
This one saddened me because it makes me think of all the people who just think of the Arts as “frills.”
I’m not sure where this picture was taken, but with all the construction which has been going on in Omaha recently, it seemed appropriate. It also aroused a good deal of sympathy for those who still have to struggle to get to work on time and made me glad that that’s really not my problem anymore.
I understand that this MAY have been faked, but rumor (and this picture) suggest that there really IS a “Richard III Camping Goods” store in Leicester, a town in the east midlands of England where R R III’s body is buried. True, or not, it amused me. The sale sign for tents is quite funny, I think.
This sign made me laugh.

This is one which Bonnie had on her desk in the Honors College. I like it a lot!
Given the approach of Christmas, this seems a bit appropriate.
